The article is the continuation of the Creating Approval Workflow: Step-by-Step Guide article where we created an Approval Workflow. The trigger used in that workflow was that If a person with Admin rights creates a product worth 10000 monetary units, then it would be sent to their manager, for approval. If Manager approves then it can be placed for sale, otherwise it is sent back to the person who added that product, for reconsideration. Now consider that such a record is created, as shown below.
This article elaborates what happens after an approval request is generated.
Click the My Approvals link to access the approvals that you can approve.
Step 2: View approval details
Click the relevant approval’s name to go to the details page.
Step 3: Approve or Reject
Click the small arrow besides the Approval control.
Select the desired action; Approve, Reject (or any other if devised in the Approval Workflow).
Provide comments if required, or skip if allowed.
The approval process completes. If a sub-flow was devised for the selected action, then it is executed, however thats beyond the scope of this article.
