Modifying an Existing Portal in Your Application

Modifying an existing portal in your application

As businesses grow and adapt to changing market conditions, their needs and workflows often evolve. This can necessitate changes to existing portals as they may become outdated or inefficient as a company’s operations change.

Codeless ONE empowers users to create and customize new portals. Additionally, it provides a flexible platform for modifying existing portals to align with evolving business requirements. This means that businesses can quickly adapt their digital infrastructure to meet changing needs, ensuring optimal efficiency and productivity.

The portals are different faces of the same application, hence they are controlled by that application. For all portal-related operations to be performed, first we need to open the appropriate application. On the App Workspace, click the link of the desired application.

Open desired app

Step 2: Access the Application Settings

Click the Settings icon , and then select the Application Settings option.

Step 3: Go to the App Model

In the Application Settings page, click the App Model option in the left-hand menu, to open the App Model.

Click on App Model

Step 4: Select the Portals tab

Click on the Portals tab.

Click on the Portals Tab

Step 5: Select the portal that is to be updated

Select the desired portal from the list.

Select the desired portal

Step 6: Click on the Object Selection

The portal is opened in editable mode. All objects are listed here, with the objects of the portal shown as selected (checked).

Step 7: Customize the portal

Modify the portal as desired, by adding the desired objects and removing the unwanted ones.  In our example, we have included two more objects to our portal.

Option to revert changes

Before committing changes, users have the option to revert back the changes done so far. This is done by clicking first on the ellipsis button, and then on the Revert changes option.

Step 8: Save your changes

Save the changes that you have done to the portal by clicking on the Save button.

Step 9: Update the app

Although we have saved the changes to the portal, however, these changes won’t reflect until the app is updated. Click on the Update App button to do it.

Step 10: Confirm app update

There might be users connected to the portal we are updating, who might be disrupted due to this change. Click on the Confirm button, on the warning message box to proceed.

This completes the process to modify the portal.
