Project baselines are essential for tracking progress, managing changes, and ensuring project success. They provide a clear reference point for scope, schedule, and cost, enabling comparisons between planned and actual performance. Baselines help identify deviations, manage risks, and maintain accountability, ensuring alignment among stakeholders. By offering a benchmark for success, they support decision-making, resource optimization, and continuous improvement for future projects.
To create a baseline, the user first needs to click the Baseline option in the toolbar.
From the popup menu, user selects the +New Baseline option.
A baseline is created and its name is displayed alongside the Baseline option in the toolbar.
The name of the baseline is auto-generated based on the creation timestamp. Users can’t change or edit this name.
A new baseline can be created repeating the same process.
The new baseline is created this time with the updated time ranges and a new name.
To compare the current baseline, with another, user have to click the Baseline option in the toolbar and then select the relevant baseline.
In the comparison baseline the legends are as following:

Green: The timeline remained same or receded in current baseline comparing it to the selected baseline.
Blue: The timeline exists in the current baseline but was not present in the baseline being compared to it.
Turning Off Baseline
