Kanban Configurations

The foremost configuration of Kanban is to change the grouping property that defines the columns of the Kanban Board.

The process to change the grouping property depends upon the level of Kanban Board. There are two possibilities:

  • Main object is being displayed
  • A list is being displayed

Each of these is configured differently. Let’s elaborate on each one.

For the main object

Click the App Settings icon and then click the On button.

Click the Edit icon for the Kanban Board.

Click Edit icon for Kanban Board

Select the desired property under the Primary Column Group By dropdown control.

Click the Update Page button.

Click Update Page button

The Column Headers are updated as per the selected Grouping Property.

For the List

Start by selecting the desired list from the Kanban Header.

Select relevant List

Click the Settings icon at extreme right of the Kanban Header.

Click Settings button

Select the desired property under the Primary Group By dropdown control.

Select desired Group By property

Click the Save button in the Settings panel.

Click Save button

Click the Settings icon to close the Settings panel and complete the process.

Adding/Removing properties from the Kanban Card

Like the previous configuration, the process for this configuration is also different for the complete object (with all records) and a subset list of records.

For the Main Object

Click the App Settings icon and then click the On button.

Enable Inline Edit

Click the Edit icon for the Kanban Board.

Click Edit icon for Kanban Board

Click the Properties tab.

Click Properties tab

Click the Select Properties button.

Click Select Properties button

Select the desired checkboxes to include the relevant properties. Similarly uncheck those not required anymore.

Add/remove desired/unwanted properties

Click the Select button.

Rearrange the order of the appearance of the properties (if desired).

Click the Update Page button.

The updated lineup of properties is displayed on the Kanban Cards.

For the List

Start by selecting the desired list from the Kanban Header.

Select relevant List

Click the Settings icon at extreme right of the Kanban Header.

Click Settings button

Select the desired checkboxes to include the relevant properties. Similarly uncheck those not required anymore.

Select/remove desired/unwanted properties

Note: The order of the properties shown on a Kanban Card depends on the order in which the user selects them. To completely change the order, the user can uncheck all the boxes, then select the properties again one by one in the order they want them to appear on the card.

Click the Save button in the Settings panel.

The updated lineup of properties is displayed on the Kanban Cards.
